Help
Catalog Audit checks your Shopify catalog for what costs sales and gets products rejected by Google, and lets AI prepare the fixes you approve.
What the app does for your store
Missing photos, thin descriptions and empty SEO fields quietly cost sales and get products rejected by Google Shopping. The app finds them across your whole catalog, sorts them by money and lets AI prepare the fixes.
- Finds every gap: photos, descriptions, SEO, product data, prices and collections.
- Puts your best-sellers first, so the fixes that pay most come first.
- AI writes descriptions, SEO texts, alt texts, types, tags and categories; you see before and after.
- Nothing changes until you apply it, and every change can be reverted.
- New and changed products are checked by themselves.
Getting started
Five minutes from install to your first fixes.
- Install the app, open Overview and click Find problems. Reading the catalog takes 1–3 minutes.
- Overview lists the products with problems, the ones that cost the most first.
- Click Start fixing: Products opens. Use Fix all with AI on a product, the buttons next to its problems (Write description, Pick category…), or Fix all products above the list.
- Edit what AI wrote if you like, then Apply. Undo puts the old text back.
Quick start on Overview lists five steps: Check your catalog, Fix a problem with AI, Fill new products automatically, Add the Catalog Audit block and Turn on Product highlights. Each is ticked off by itself once done; Hide removes the card.
Overview
One look tells you how ready your catalog is and where to start.
- Catalog score
- 0 to 100. 100 means nothing is missing. Best-selling products count more.
- Ready, Need attention, Critical
- How many products are in each shape.
- Charts
- The ring is the catalog score. The bar under the numbers splits checked products into Critical, Need attention and Ready. Where the problems are shows how many products have problems with photos, descriptions, SEO, product data and prices; Catalog score by day shows the score over the last 30 days. Hover any mark for its numbers. Click an area in Where the problems are to see its products.
- Get products, Start fixing, Investigate with AI
- Get products from Shopify reads the catalog again and checks it. Start fixing opens Products, the worst best-sellers first. Investigate with AI looks at the photos of products not checked yet and adds what it finds to the problems (Pro).
- Archived products
- Not checked: they aren't for sale, so their problems cost nothing. Overview names them under the numbers, so you know why fewer products are checked than are in the store.
- See AI at work
- A demo on Overview with a made-up product: AI fills its empty fields one by one, then Apply all puts them in and the score goes up. It plays by itself when the app opens; Pause stops it, Resume goes on. It runs only in your browser, uses no AI and changes nothing. Hide folds it away.
- Products to fix
- The products with problems, best-sellers in the worst shape first. Start fixing opens Products, where AI fixes them.
- Check again
- Reads the whole catalog from Shopify and checks it. It also happens by itself once a day.
- Your store has no products yet
- Shown while the store has no products. Add a product opens Shopify; each new product is then checked by itself, and Get products from Shopify reads the ones already added.
How the score works
A simple rule, so you always know why a number moved.
- Product score
- The weighted share of checks the product passes: critical checks weigh 25, important ones 8, nice-to-have ones 2. Ways of failing the same check (no description, a short one) count once. Problems found by the AI photo check count once found.
- Levels
- Critical: at least one critical problem. Ready: 80 or more and nothing critical. Needs attention: everything else.
- Catalog score
- The average of your active products' scores, with each product weighted by its revenue over the last 60 days: a best-seller counts up to five times as much.
- Not checked
- On Free, your best-selling products are checked in detail; the rest show Not checked.
- Catalog Audit block in Shopify
- On a product page in the Shopify admin, the Catalog Audit block shows the product's score, its worst problems and how many of them AI can fix. Fix in Catalog Audit opens the product in the app. The block only reads: nothing changes until you apply a fix. If it isn't on the page, add it there like any other app block.
Issues: what's checked
Every rule the app applies, so nothing is a surprise.
- Critical, Important, Nice to have
- Critical problems cost sales or get products rejected by Google; important ones hurt search, ads or trust; nice-to-have ones are polish.
- Photos
- No photos, fewer than 3, no alt text, under 800 px, different shapes, files over 2 MB, the same photo twice, colours without their own photo, and what the AI photo check sees.
- Descriptions
- None, short (Settings → Checks), placeholder text, copied on other products, no lists.
- SEO
- No SEO title or meta description, too long (60 and 160 characters), the same SEO title on other products.
- Product data
- No type, vendor, tags, collection or Shopify category; variants without SKU, barcode, weight or cost; a SKU used twice.
- Variants and prices
- Price 0, compare-at price not higher than the price, active but sold out, middle sizes sold out.
- Collections
- Empty, without an image, without a description. They don't change product scores.
Each problem says what to do. Fix with AI appears where AI can write the fix; the rest you fix in Shopify.
Products and a product's page
Find the products to fix, then fix them one by one.
- Filters
- Show products with one problem, one score level or one status. Your choice is remembered. A product you worked on in the last hour stays in the list and in its place, even once a fix takes it out of the filter. Active filters show as chips next to the count: remove one, or Clear all to see every product again.
- Priority
- The default order: best-sellers first, then the lowest score. The order is set by the last full check, so products you fix keep their place until the next one.
- AI can fix · Needs you
- Each product is a card with its score ring (green from 80, yellow from 50, red below). On the left, problems AI fixes, with Fix all with AI; on the right, what only you can do: add photos, stock, SKUs. The dot shows how serious a problem is: red critical, yellow important, grey nice to have. Hover a problem's name to see what it means and why it matters. Fixes already in your store show on green; once AI has fixed all it can, the whole panel turns green.
- Quick view
- Click a product's photo or name: a large window shows it as it is in your store — all its photos, price, stock, details, how it looks in Google and the description. Open product page opens its page in the app in a new tab. Try AI lets AI fill the missing fields right in this window, tinted over the current values; Apply all puts them in your store.
- Fix all with AI
- Next to a product's problems. AI writes every fix it can for the product in one go (one AI fix) and applies it to your store right away. Each field shows as Applied with Edit and Undo; Undo all takes them all back. Texts that may contain made-up facts are left under their problem for you to check.
- Take off sale
- Two checkboxes next to Fix all: take the product off sale (set to Draft) if it's out of stock, or if it has no photos. Both are off until you tick them. It happens in the same run as the fixes, so Undo all puts the product back on sale.
- Choose what AI writes
- Under Fix all, a checkbox per field: description, SEO title, meta description, alt texts, type, tags, category, colour photos. All are on; untick one and Fix all leaves that field as it is. Above the list for Fix all products, on each product for its own Fix all with AI.
- Fix all products
- Above the list. Does the same as Fix all with AI for every product AI can fix, best-sellers first, in the background. It asks first. When it's done, Undo all takes back every change of the run; History lists them too. A big run (50 products or more) goes to AI as one batch: the fixes arrive within about an hour, and you can close the page meanwhile.
- Hide from store
- For an active product with no photos or nothing in stock: sets it to Draft so shoppers don't land on it. Undo makes it active again. Problems AI can't fix also have Fix in Shopify (or Add photos), which opens the product in Shopify.
- A product's page
- Its score and every problem with what to do. Where AI can help, a button such as Write description prepares the fix right under the problem: edit it there and apply. Also its photos with what the AI photo check saw, and the changes the app made. If the product was deleted in Shopify, its page says so, with Back to Products.
- Photos
- Each photo with its problems. Check photos with AI looks at the ones not checked yet (Pro).
- Check again
- Reads this product from Shopify again, for example right after you edited it.
Fixing with AI
AI does the writing; you stay in control of your store.
- Click a button next to a problem (Write description, Pick category… on Products or a product's page), Fix all with AI on a product, or Fix all products above the list.
- The fix appears right under the problem: a short preview with Apply, Edit and Dismiss. Edit opens before and after in a window.
- Edit the text the way it will look: headings, bold, lists, quotes, links; tags as chips. Cancel closes the window without changes.
- Apply one, or apply all without warnings at once.
- What AI writes
- Descriptions, SEO titles, meta descriptions, photo alt texts, product types, tags and Shopify categories, in the tone and length set in Settings.
- Fits your store's design
- Before writing a description, AI reads one or two of your own descriptions (the same product type and brand first) and follows their structure and tone, so new texts look like the rest. It writes plain text only — no colours or fonts — so your theme styles it, even after you change themes.
- Colours without a photo
- Match photos with AI looks at the product's photos and, for each colour that has no photo of its own, picks the photo showing that colour. You can pick another one in the window; Apply links the photo to all variants of that colour, Undo unlinks it. When no photo shows the colour, nothing is suggested: add a photo in Shopify.
- What AI never makes up
- Barcodes, weights, costs, SKUs, materials, sizes and new photos. For those you get a hint instead.
- Check these facts
- When a text mentions a number or material the product's details don't have, the fix carries a warning. Check it before applying.
- Rewrite with AI
- Not happy with an applied text? Rewrite with AI writes a new version next to it. Nothing changes until you apply it, and Undo still brings back the very first value.
- Collections
- AI can add a product that's in no collection to one of your own manual collections — it only picks from the names you already have and never creates one. Smart collections fill themselves by their rules, so they're left alone. Undo takes the product out again.
- Product highlights
- A block for your product page (Settings → Product highlights): 3–5 key points, materials and care, in your theme's fonts and colours. Turn on the check in Settings and Fix with AI writes the points for each product; they're stored in the product's metafields, Undo takes them back, and you can edit them in Shopify too.
- Apply fixes without warnings
- Applies every fix shown that has no warning, in one go. They're listed together in History and can be reverted together.
- Changed in Shopify
- If you edited a field in Shopify after the fix was prepared, the app leaves it alone and tells you.
History and undo
Every change the app made in your store, and a way back.
- Undo
- After you apply a fix it stays in place for 30 days, marked Applied: Edit changes it again from what your store has now, Undo puts back what was there before.
- Undo all
- Takes back every fix applied together: on a product (all its applied fields) or a whole Fix all products run. The old values go back to your store.
- Undo all changes
- Next to Fix all products. Puts back what was there before every change the app made that is still in place, on all products, in the background. It asks first. A field you edited in Shopify since is left alone; History keeps every change.
- Undo (History)
- Next to each change still in your store: puts the old value back.
- Undo all (History)
- Changes applied together can be undone together.
- Edited since
- If the field changed in Shopify after the app's change, revert leaves your newer edit alone and says so.
- Clear history
- Starts the list over. Nothing changes in your store, and fixes applied in the last 30 days can still be undone on Products.
AI photo check
Google Shopping and Meta reject photos with promotional text or watermarks. The AI photo check looks at the photos themselves to find:
- text, prices, "SALE", badges or logos on top of the photo
- watermarks or another site's logo
- frames and borders
- several photos combined into one
- blurry, dark or pixelated photos
- photos that don't show the product named in the title
Comes with Pro. Run it from Overview (Investigate with AI: your best-sellers) or from a product's page. A photo is checked once; a replaced photo is checked again.
- Not a problem
- Next to a problem the AI photo check found. The finding is dropped and won't come back for that photo; a replaced photo is checked again.
Automatic filling
New products arrive complete, without you lifting a finger (Pro).
- What it does
- When a product is created, AI fills the empty fields you chose in Settings and applies them.
- What it never does
- It never rewrites text you wrote. A text whose facts AI can't confirm waits under its problem on Products for you to check.
- Once per product
- Each product is filled once. Every change is in History and can be reverted.
Settings
Make the app write like your brand and check what matters to you.
- Language
- The app's own language. Each person can follow their Shopify admin language.
- How AI writes
- The language of the texts, the tone and the description length.
- Your brand's voice
- Paste a description you like; AI copies its style, never its facts.
- Checks
- How many words make a description short (50 by default). Saving a new number checks the catalog again.
- Automatic filling
- Switch it on and pick the fields AI may fill on new products (Pro).
- AI this month
- How many products AI fixed and photos it checked this month, against your plan.
- Full width
- In the title bar of every page: use the whole width of the admin.

Questions
Short answers to what merchants ask most.
- How long does the first check take?
- 1–3 minutes, even for 10,000 products.
- Does a high score guarantee Google approval?
- No, Google has its own review. The app catches the most common reasons products are rejected.
- The AI buttons say AI isn't set up
- The server has no AI key yet. Every check still works; contact us.
- I ran out of AI fixes
- The count starts again on the 1st of each month. Pro gives far more than Free.
- Can I edit what AI wrote?
- Yes: click Edit on any fix before applying. Your edit is what's applied.
- What happens if I uninstall?
- Fixes already applied stay in your store. The app's data is deleted 48 hours later.
- Does the app read customer data?
- No. It reads products, collections and how much each product sold, never who bought it.
